HCV Accountant
Performs accounting and auditing work to support the HCV Programs and ensure transactions are properly recorded in CHA's general ledgers.
• Prepare assigned journal entries for the required systems (Lawson and Yardi).
• Prepares monthly account reconciliations to ensure transactions report in the general ledger is reflected correctly.
• Perform research on outstanding payables and receivables to determine the accuracy of the balance; prepares report of noted discrepancies and makes recommendation for resolution.
• Review and ensure transactions are properly recorded in Yardi and Lawson.
• Record payments received from debt collection and landlord overpayments.
• Interact with HCV Programs/Operations to gather any missing documentation or support and maintain a log for follow-up.
• Reconcile and maintain log for unclaimed properties and voided checks; reviewing and performing research as necessary.
• Perform general research, review and analysis to provide effective technical support to the Authority's management staff.
• Review and keep abreast of policies, procedures, and reports related to area of responsibilities.
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliation
• Reconcile and maintain report of payments received through PayPal; ensuring receipts are properly recorded monthly.
• Perform all other related duties and special projects as assigned.

This position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related discipline and three (3) years of accounting experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. This position requires a working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and strong Microsoft Excel skill.

Housing Choice Voucher Program experience or Yardi knowledge is considered a plus. This position requires effective verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to multi-task, prioritize assignments and work within established deadlines. The successful candidate will possess the following: a strong work ethic and sense of team, flexibility and excellent mathematical and analytical skills.

Salary Range: $55,000 – 60,000
